3. Server log files
When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically records information in server log files (IP address, date and time, file requested, browser type, referrer). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). The hosting provider is FBZ Service GmbH, which operates the server for us as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. The underlying infrastructure is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre within the European Union.
4. Cookies and consent management
We use technically necessary cookies that are required to operate the website (legal basis: § 25(2) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Non-essential cookies and comparable technologies are only used with your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your choice is stored locally in your browser and can be withdrawn at any time:
5. Contact form and email
If you contact us via the form or by email, the data you provide (name, email address, phone number where given, company, message) is processed in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (initiation or performance of a contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.
5a. Application form
Through the application form we process the data you provide (including name, contact details, position and motivation) as well as the PDF documents you upload (such as CV and references) in order to carry out the application procedure. Transmission is encrypted (HTTPS); attachments are forwarded by email to our HR address solely for delivery and are not stored permanently on the web server. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into an employment relationship) and your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) given via the checkbox in the form. Application data is deleted once the procedure has been completed, unless a statutory retention obligation applies or you have agreed to longer storage for future vacancies.
6. Spam protection: ALTCHA
To protect our forms against automated misuse we use ALTCHA, a self-hosted proof-of-work mechanism. The check runs on our own server and in your browser; no data is transmitted to Google or other third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing spam and abuse).
7. Fonts (Google Fonts, self-hosted)
This website uses the typeface “Archivo” for a consistent appearance. It is hosted locally and loaded from our own server when the page is opened — no connection to Google servers is established.
8. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Transfers to third countries (for example the USA) only take place within the scope of the services named above and on the basis of your consent or appropriate safeguards (EU standard contractual clauses).
9. Status of this policy
This privacy policy is dated August 2026. Further development of the website or changes in legal requirements may make an update necessary.
